Dont you guys review it when I submit aeons ago? Yesterday? And it was my mistake for not having IPC setting? For claiming the wells I worked for? For being technical in my write up? For being too bombastic for the BBS?

Pen-boy

I accidentally stalked this pen-boy.

Initially, I thought he was my boss' son. But when I saw his name, it seems not. But his name makes me think off my favourite food.

Then,as I watched this CNY documentary just now,I saw this pen-boy. Aha,my instinct was correct.

But,too bad. The other day I saw him wearing ring; and he smokes. Blue Dunhill some more. There goes my short crush.

Ungrateful

Ungrateful. That is what I’m thinking of myself.

Sitting here all alone, I recalled the kindness of my parents.

Mama accompanied me all the way from Paka to KL, just to make sure I arrived safely here.

But knowing me (read:stubborn), I disagree with Papa’s decision to ask Mama to accompany me.

Earlier, Papa asked me to extend my holidays till end of the week.  But I already make plans earlier-involving my work, which I have to finish by that week.  So, if I extend my holidays till the weekend, I doubt, I can finish my work ontime.

It was raining heavily at East Coast.  Days earlier, we nearly trapped in Kuantan’s flood.  Luckily we are local, so we know some other possible shortcuts to avoid the flood.

Back to the story.

I have this attitude of ‘do it on my own’ and ‘do not like to pester people’.  So, that’s the reason why I disagree with Papa’s decision.  And I think, I keep silence throughout the journey.

 

I think parents being parents; they’ll always worry about their own children.  But for me, the hard-headed girl, I don’t fancy this kind of thing.  But to others, this is what they are looking for.

That’s why I think-I’m ungrateful for what I have right now.  

Hopefully, I can be a better person, or at least improve my attitude.

We arrive in SA after spending about 6 hours on the road.

I decided for all to have KFC. The easiest n fastest meal,considering it was rAining heavily.

While eating,my aunt told me,"If Tok Ayah is alive and see us eating KFC, he definitely will say,"sekotak KFC ni kalau buat beli ayam sekor,satu keluarga boleh makan".

Opshore

so, what's like to stay offshore?

it's like going on a paid vacation :D

depend on where u stay, platform, rig or barge. u'll provide with a room; air-cond of course. like myself since i'm a lady, i normally get privileged to stay in 1 man room or 2-men room with attached bathroom[this's to save POB, of course].

plenty of meals provided-normally it'll b : breakfast-snack-lunch-snack-dinner-supper.

however, the meals timing might be different. example, in the rig i'm staying now, the lunch is at 10.30 am? WHATTT? so, fret not in case u missed ur breakfast :)

laundry is tip-top. just make sure u put ur dirty cloth in laundry bag provided and in half a day, u'll get ur cloth cleaned.

internet- haa, as far as where i had been sent, most of the time, internet speed is not on your side[unless u r provided with VSAT like some service/operating company].

phone-most of the platform&rig dont allow for handphones. u can bring one if u r on a barge/vessels.  so, most of the time i'll inform my parents beforehand on how long i might be staying offshore&where i'm staying and will email them when i first reach offshore.  at least they know i'm safe.  papa has this ship GPS apps installed in his phone. so, he pretty much know my whereabouts and weather condition over there.

what exactly you are doing offshore?

my real job's name is Production Technologist(PT). i seldom mention my real job's name cos it'll just invite more question.

ok, back to the question.  as a PT, when i go offshore, basically i'm supervising execution of jobs that i designed. jobs here mean stimulation, any optimization related to subsurface or downhole.

how long do u stay offshore?

depend on the job.  sometime it takes me only 2 days.  the longest stay that i had was 3 weeks, due to some operational issue.  else, max will be 2 weeks.

that pretty much summed up everything :)

oioi, i miss eating chicken. when in doubt, forget it :D

Frac o frac

im waiting-waiting for the frac

silent-yeah, basically everybody was like observing moment of silence when the frac commence. 

the tense moment, where the frac engineer had to finalize his design in 30minutes[since the transfer basket already waiting for me-the transporter engineer]. 

the serene moment where we were hung up high in the air[hugging the transfer basket] while the crane operator make decision where to land us down, the tense moment where i had to dealt with 100mbps data transfer. 

its like using old school 1515 dial up. the kalutness moment where i pretty much opened all my emails just to make sure any email can be used to shoot the frac design to town.  

the tense moment when the company asked me to give order to pump the main treatment.

and now, bliss bliss bliss. cold shower just made my day.

alhamdulillah for this great experience. hopefully all is well. insyaAllah.

Gr8ship

aha.somebody is bcoming picky or fussy now.

she can tell whether the towel is absorbing moisture or not, or leaving cotton particles on her skin

this greatship is great as the name implies. am enjoying every moment of it. nice shower, nice accompany, nice towel[heh] and nice bed.

yeah, i need to get some rest for the frac job tonite. need to take the usual shots of coffee so that i can survive the waiting hours.

i pray hard that this job will be a smooth and great one. this learning curve, responsibility is what i'm looking for right now.

Had my first basket transfer this evening. While admiring the horizon, I tugged in my hands tightly around the net, and lean my body to the front just to make sure I wont fall off my back.

Then the guys onboard jp bussell screamed, " girls, look here. We gonna take ur pictures".

Haa. I’m pretty quizzed on what they manage to capture. The nervous look? The squinting eyes avoiding the light rays or the ‘hurry get me down look?’. hee

but i weighed 58kg when they weight me again at the airport

and now, few days onboard

with the usual local menu-vege vege and vege

and yours truly doesnt take any

i guess i can easily loss another 2-3kg

on record, this is the most unsocial offshore visit that i had

if nothing involve me, i'll just stay in my bunker

and do some reading

i dont care to go down [yet] to the rig floor

perhaps, i'm obeying to the instruction given-go for the frac ONLY

Mid Year syndrome

I should submit my mid year assessment tomorrow, and yet, I'm too lazy to think about 'brag myself' sentences.
Haih.
Though I admit this year is a lil' bit slow for me, with few of the jobs had been postponed to second half of the year.
I told my boss that I would feel great if I manage to bring back all 4 idle strings back to production this year. Those will be my great achievement since some of the people out there just don't believe that these strings are worth to be back online.
Let's pray that these strings will give us good production.

Piping jelly?

Huh. I thought it's a kind of jelly. Goeeey.

Piping jelly recipe:
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- 1 level tablespoon corn flour
- ¼ cup water
- 4 tbs castor sugar

 
Method:
Place all ingredients in a small saucepan and dissolve over low heat stirring continuously till mixture comes to the boil.
Let the mixture thicken. Then remove from heat.
If mixture thickens too much add a little more water.
Store in fridge in airtight container.

Half way to the land~yeah

Suddenly, there's problem and we have to wait for decision from town. Today is already the second day. HEllloooo town!

Monday will be my training day. 

Today, I'm still at the sea. I wanna go back and attend my training L Please, when I wake up tomorrow, this boat should be half way to KSB already. Warghhh.

Alhamdulillah, after thrice going in n out of hospital, finally Papa had been discharged from the hospital.

Right now, he's recovering at my 'pigeon hole' house before resuming his duty this weekend.

Note : My Papa is a workaholic guy, so dont question why he's too eager to start his duty back :)

Just touch down from KK and next Tuesday I'll be going to KK again.
Sigh, I don't quite understand with what really is the management thinking.

• I thought they wanna minimize the meetings and focus more on the technical stuff.
• I thought they wanna save money, instead every month we'll be having minimum 4 meetings out of office.
• I thought they wanna save money, instead they pay this consultant company X amount of money, I believe million, just to construct this stupid excel sheet?

 
Point to ponder:
Ms X: I hope these problematic wells can be solved thru this **X.
Me: I wonder how we can solve the problematic wells thru this Microsoft Excel sheet.
In the first place, I don't know whether Ms X really knows what she's talking about. C'mon, u wanna solve problematic wells thru data entry in spreadsheet? Go figure.

Regret? Yes, but it's already too late
Papa: I hope your operation will be smooth and no complication will happen. I'm not someone who really shows my emotion, but deep down I'm worried. Our life experience with Anas really taught me to be strong from outside. Insya-Allah.
