Single Working Ladies Dilemma

Bila Madam cakap “Kau bukan masak pun”.
.
Nak sentap pun x guna.
.
Eventhough diri sendiri memang tau hari-hari penat balik kerja, lapar. So memang akan masak jugak.
Busuk-busuk pun reheat balik lauk yang dah masak siap2 masa weekend.
Kalau xde lauk, biasanya pagi tu dah thaw siap2 bahan mentah kt chiller, so bila balik tinggal masak je.  Sedap ke x sedap ke, asalkan edible and tekak sendiri boleh terima, Alhamdulillah.
.
Well, ini antara dugaan pada working ladies. Or single working ladies. Memang akan ada yang being judgemental like that, whereas being single and working pun, we still have to get things done for ourselves and on our own.  Memang x perlu skill memasak 'kenduri style', tapi kalau diri sendiri x masak, bukannya ada Domino delivery kt sini -_-
.

I rest my case.

I Try

“When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage”-Paulo Coelho

What a day today.

The well got issue and the best thing is the diagnostic tool to understand the well condition is onboard, but MAN why it’s so hard to convince the people to just run the tool, while it’s still there.

I always keep myself cool, till just now, I just have to raise my voice.
"The pressure is on us"
"Yeah, you're right.  Later we'll have to clear the mess.  Make sure it's written somewhere about this issue"

SE-TE-RESS weyh when we have differences and can’t reach the agreement.

I’ve learnt the hard way before.  You don’t solve the problem now, you will not solve the problem later.  Other person has to clean the mess for you.  And I have become that other person before.

Not complaining but don’t just work for KPI, deliver it.  Deliver it nicely, just like what you want it to be.

“But darling, I'd still catch a grenade for ya
Throw my hand on a blade for ya
I'd jump in front of a train for ya
You know I'd do anything for ya”

Sunday, and it’s wedding day.

I think I’ve found my cheerleaders!

Auntyna! Auntyna! Auntyna!

These kids are handful, seriously.

But I really enjoy their company.

Dang! Looks like it was aeon since the last time I visit/meet them, cos these chatterbox can’t stop talking.

Haha.  Somehow they helped to make me feel better.  The previous Friday, we were having difficulty to flow the well.  To be exact, we already passed our 1st gas date target.

Chill-lah, like I told my colleague.  But in the inside, only Allah knows how I feel.

Before that, I’ve already made promises to update the well result to my boss and partners.  It just doesn’t feel right when I cannot deliver the promises due to operational reason.

Life must go on.  Ticket already been purchased since 1 year ago.  ‘Nasi minyak’ calls have to be answered.

So, let’s go home bebeh.
.
.
It was my cousin, Ariff’s wedding.  Since weddings always be the right place to meet relatives, I booked the ticket immediately after my uncle notify everyone about the wedding.  Gigih kot kira hari kat calendar whether I can make it for the wedding or not, since when the announcement made, we were about to start our drilling campaign.

Fate has it, our drilling campaign delayed.  And so happen the wedding weekend pulak la the well has issues.  Hadeih sangat.  Can’t imagine if this happen during my wedding ><

Anyhow, the wedding was very beautiful.  Oklah since I got to catch up with my relatives.  Food was awesome too, just like Bobo’s wedding.  Hawker style food-but in the hotel.  Aysyah was constantly nagging at me asking when she can start eating as the emcee mentioned that we have to wait for the bride and groom’s arrival before we can go to the buffet table.  The funny thing was when the emcee requested everyone to stand up, she asked me, “Auntyna, nak nyanyi lagu negaraku ke?”.  Lol.

(Always) a damage control agent

Kadang-kadang geram juga bila you are not included in email conversations regarding things that you should know.

May be it's just an emotional swing.

Nk fikir baik, bagus juga not in the know. Less burden. But if something happen, bersedia je la nk jadi damage control agent.

Husband

Neighbour :  I see you are Malaysian?
Me : Yeah
Neighbour : Your husband too?  Is he Malaysian?
Me : Yeah

Only after I step out the lift that I realized what had I answer.  Too late to retract back -_-

Keropok

I decided to send some food to my neighbour cos I think I looked a lil bit unfriendly (i was locked outside my house, thanks to the new door system). So, i send over some keropok.

More like keropok minta maaf and welcome to Yangon thingy for the wife ;)

Sedap plak keropok ni. It's been awhile for me to fry keropok in my house. All for road to healthy eating.

Actually the taste is not bad at all if we bake or boil the keropok. Tapi mcm pelik plak nak introduce baked or boiled keropok to the neighbours, since keropok goreng lah sedap kan!

A slightly young aunt

2 weeks ago:

Neighbour : Hi, I just move here.
Me : Nice to meet you. Welcome to Yangon.
Neighbour : Actually, I've been travelling back and forth Yangon and Japan. Now, I'm settling here for good.
Me : So, how do you find Yangon?
Neighbour : So far so good. I like it here. I'm bringing my wife soon.
Me : That's great. (In my mind, I was thinking this will be great. My neighbour will be an aunt from Japan! Coolio!)

Today, I met the neighbour's wife. Cun kot. Macam sebaya je. Omg, I have to ask forgiveness from my neighbour.tsk

Chicken and Duck

Small things that matter:

When people that speak different language than you try to make conversation despite the language barrier.

Effort. Effort.

Hati Malaysia

Bila duduk oversea ni (walaupun sepelaung je dari Malaysia), anything yang related to Malaysia mesti dekat di hati.  Be it food, languange, orang jual kain cakap Melayu dengan kita, jumpa Malaysian yg kerja or visiting as tourist and dapat tengok cerita dari Malaysia.

Kebetulan, my current humble abode dapat TV3.  Walaupun gambar x berapa nak clear n kadang2 x nampak pun muke pelakon etc, tapi bolehlah.  Cuma SE-TE-RESS plak bile tengah syok2 layan drama, tiba-tiba.."Khap kun kapp...bla bla"

Spoil kan.. Biasanya mcm tu la,tiba2 keluar channel Smart Shop Thai, yang jual barang2 tu.  Paling SE-TE-RESS sebab pengacara channel ni style jerit2 yang bingit punya.  Lagila SE-TE-RESS mendengarnye.  Cepat2 tukar channel, sbb rasa serabut.

Sometimes bukannye melekat depan TV pun, tapi on je nak kasi ada suara2 Malaysia kedengaran.

Tapi, what if kan, x dapat Malaysian channel?

No worries, ade few good people yang host and uploadkan series or drama2 Melayu.  Kudos to them, sebab jasa diorang ni la Malaysian yg duduk overseas dapat follow series2 smua ni.  May be nampak salah kat pengarah2 or stesen TV, but looking at the positive sides, diorang ni somehow tolong promote or kasi free marketing to the drama and actor/actress.

Yela, some of the series mcm TV3 or TV9 boleh tengok dekat tonton.  Tapi yang ASTRO punya, I don't think ada onlineportal cmtu.

So, memang gigih dan berjasa lah those few good people yang tolong upload the series.  Terima kasih ye!

S.O.P.

One of my tasks is to create a procedure.

Though sometimes we have the options to copy paste any existing procedures, my passed experience just prove that it doesn’t work all the time.

I learned the hard way when involved in contracts preparation.  I don’t spoke lawyers’ words, but I had to explain those words (that I myself don’t prepare and don’t understand, heh).

I learned the hard way also when what I want it to happen as my procedure turned to be otherwise.
So, there must be something wrong somewhere, right?

May be, people don’t understand what I ‘m trying to say or they get different idea from what I’m thinking.

So, I put a test, for people to review one of my procedure.

Bingo! It comes back with a lot of comments.

I've already reminded myself not to be angry or snap on any comments given.  Chill-lah kan.

So, I read and reread my procedures.  May be the procedures were written in not so simple English.  Then come revision 2, revision 3 of my procedures.  Put it at test again.

What I found out was, when writing procedures, just use simple English. Simple means simple. It will be great if we can explain the procedure verbally as well.

Bad feeling

I feel bad. Really bad. After I complained about the late arrival of my driver yesterday.

Today, a different driver fetch me.
He drove me few times before.
From the small talk, he told me the supervisor instruct him to come at 8am sharp to fetch me.

I'm not a complainer. However after few occurences that I have to wait for the driver to pick up and worst was yesterday when I waited for 45minutes.

It's not easy to write a complaint here as I know somebody might be losing his job. And they don't want to lose the job which means everything to them and their family. Thus, in my complaint, I wrote as if I'm making suggestions to improve the pick up service.

I know making complaint also will somehow affect your relationship with the person. Chill to better service!
