One of my bucket lists when I move to Myanmar was to seriously learn sewing.
Jahit sembat, jahit butang baju, jahit jelujur x dikira.
Seriously means till I can sew my own clothes..until.. When I arrive here and find out that tailoring here is very cheap (kat Malaysia beli baju siap aje) :D
So, bucket list is still a bucket list, but we got to leverage on the cheap tailoring here, right? . .
The other day, just before Aidilfitri, I went to Bogyoke to alter one of my jubah since I don’t have time to shop for new cloth. Ambil yang sunat aja, pakai yang terbaik dan cantik.
There’s plenty of tailor at 2nd floor of Bogyoke. Just pick one to alter the jubah, as simple as that. Only I realized, dekat signage masing2 rupanya ade yang tersurat. Pandang betul2 dan boleh decipher d code. Ala Da Vinci Code. I accidentally know about this cos when I drop by to one of the tailor, she actually shows me to another tailor. Ok, I thought cos she’ s busy and cannot entertain me. So, I go to the tailor that she showed me. Turn out to be that tailor also will be celebrating Aidilfitri too (read between the lines, pls) :).
Long story short, jubah was altered, and I’m one happy girl cos baju raya settle.
Last weekend, I had plenty of time and nowhere to check out. Biasalah, bila takde tempat nk pegi, Bogyoke lah last resort. Ala2 pakej pegi Jakel dan tukang jahit sekali. Dah habis cari kain, pergi lah drop by kt tailor Raya haritu.
Makcik tu punya la excited, “Malaysia! Malaysia! U still remember me?”
“Of course”.
“I 1 month in Malaysia. U know KLCC? My sister in Balakong bring me KLCC” sambil flip open handphone and tunjuk gambar.
“Is it nice Kuala Lumpur? What do u do 1 month in Kuala Lumpur?”
“Me visit my sister. She tailor like me. RapidKL very good. Where u qurbani?”
“Here, I did Qurban in Myanmar”
“Ahh, Malaysia very good. We Qurbani in Malaysia”
Makcik ni sangat excited cerita pasal Malaysia, and she’s not the first one that tell good things about Malaysia.
And yes, Malaysia memang best.
Memang rezeki makcik ni untuk jahit tepi tudung n 2 blouse. Makcik ni tak pakai tudung tapi dia pun tau tudung bawal Malaysia -_-. Kalau jahitan dia kemas, lepas ni boleh hantar baju lagi :D
Bila nak serious belajar menjahit ni? tsk.
