Lights off @ I-City, Klang

Having been to i-city early this year makes me want to bring my family there.

Much to my disappointment, there's entrance fee cum parking fee being imposed to the visitors. Yes, you need to pay RM10 prior to the (toll-gate?) ladies and you will be given a ticket (that you can throw off later). Earlier, visitors do not have to pay for any entrance fee or what not. Sigh.

Since visitors need to pay prior entering i-city, I expect that more attractions will be there, compared to early this year. Plus, The star mentioned that there are ice sled and winter exhibition there.

However, we got stuck in the traffic for 30 mins before we decide to park just by the roadside. Mind you, it is not worth it to continue queuing for the 'proper parking' when the cars in front of you are moving at snail speed.

First stop was at the Peacocks. Sad enough, not all the peacocks are nice to look at. Yeah, they don't have their colourful lights on anymore.

Second stop was the Pine trees. Same thing. Half of the trees don't have their lights on. To make thing worse, wiring done underground seem to pop out already. I witnessed a boy tripped on the exposed wire. Hazard!

Third stop was at the animal models. I was quite pissed off with the guard who keep whistling his whistle. Kecoh betul. The thing is, he tried to chase people from standing near the animal models whereas there's no signage that mention visitors cannot stand there. What la..

Next, we moved on to the shop lots. Last time, there were two 'shops' that has winter-like theme. However, this time, I was shocked to find out that the snowman, reindeer everything are move to the new 'Winter Place'.. I coined this name :p The two shops now become shops selling fancy head gears. I thought the RM 10 we paid earlier covers the entrance fee for the 'Winter Place'. But…nehi. You need to pay RM35 for adult and RM25 for children.

What a waste right?

In short, I considered myself wasting my money and time going to i-city since:

  • There's no proper traffic controller to control the jam and to ensure proper parking as well as smooth traffic
  • No proper maintenance done to the lights
  • Cleanliness is not maintained (the surrounding and the toilet)
  • Too expensive (for me), since for me going to i-city is just like you staring at your lampu hari raya at home. And, if I'm not mistaken, last time there was consideration to promote i-city to Arab people. With this kind of situation, I don't think the Arabs will be eager to visit i-city.

To the relevant parties, please improve! Why need to pay for entrance fee when I don't see the relevance of paying the entrance fee..
