Clash of the plumbers (1)

Situation : Pipe outside my house has been leaking for few times. Initially, it was caused by the leaking filter gasket. Changed. But the leaking problem still happens. Thru trial and error, it was discovered that the pipe inlet was also having leaking problem. This is the major problem if I on the pump. But, no pump, slow water ma..

Solution:

Condo maintenance : "the water pressure is too high, u need to install PRV (pressure regulating valve) to control the pressure. And u need to repair this leaking immediately since ur unit is causing disturbance to other tenants. [and yes, I need to bear all this cost; call the plumber to break the wall, retrieve the leaking pipe, replace it, cement back][u r right, causing trouble to other tenants? Only 2 units occupied nearby, and those are weekend houses kot ;( ]

Plumber A [actual profession-filter maintenance guy]: "u need to install PRV, total estimated cost RM400" [bapak mahal, plus this guy does shabby job, twice he repaired the filter and twice leaking happened, plus this guy is gedik]

Plumber B [ex-maintenance guy at this area]: "ur filter and pump already have the PRV, no need to install new one" [before he troubleshoot the leaking, he discovered that the pump is already short (circuit), opened up and find something burnt inside there, change the internal part but pump still not working. Changed the leaking pipe. Guess what, the pipeline internal is badly corroded due to the 'cleanliness' of water supply here]. Total damage done :RM200

Part of the problem already solved but still need to call the pump guy to troubleshoot the pump. Low water pressure @ house. 30minutes for normal shower..

Plumber C [the pump guy]: Pissed off since plumber B modified the piping route. According to him, water need to enter the pump first before going to the filter and into the house. I clarified saying that the water is full with corrosion, thus can caused the pump to be kaput. Sigh. [Plumber C find out that the pump motor is kaput. Options : to repair the pump (RM700) or replace with brand new pump (RM1,400). Of course, I choose the cheapest option, see what can this option do]

Total damage done to date: RM200

Expected total damage done: RM900

Next job: Remove the parquette flooring and put normal tiles.

Fuhh, there goes my money. with this current condition, I doubt I can save lots of money to buy my wishlist.

p/s: just replaced the laptop battery. Total damage done :RM380. Sigh.
